Anyway we had great fun with Joey on Sunday & Monday. Here's a summary of our day.
Arrived at airport at about 1130hrs to meet up with the rest of joey fans who came to support her. We went as part of Joey's Singapore fanclub: Joey Alliance Singapore to welcome her.
Joey arrived on the same flight as Alec Su.....wah....Alec Su had quite a lot of fans... Alec Su fans had prepared huge bouquets of flowers for him. We on the other hand had 2 small hand bouquets for joey....not so heavy for her...
We were actually worried that both Alec Su and Joey would come out together. Joey came out first and saw us like monkeys waving frantically at her. We had our lightboards on so it was easy to notice us. When she waved at us...we almost went hysterical and greeted her wave with loud squeals..
Joey was stuck at the baggage retrieval area as there was one missing baggage....and so our long long wait started. By the time Alec Su appeared, got his luggage, came out to the arrival hall, took photos with his fans....our joey was still stuck inside the baggage retreival area. But she kept our spirits up by waving towards us on and off and even gave us the thumbs up.
When Joey finally came out, we were chanting Joey, Joey, Joey....we were so loud, i think the whole arrival hall could hear us and human traffic came to a stop wondering who just arrived.
Joey has to be the NICEST artiste around. We could already see that she was tired but when she came out, she not only smiled at us and waved but she actually walked to us, stopped to shake our hands, receive our flower bouquets, card and at the end of it all take a group photo.....we were all so high from it. Joey then went off in a coach which brought her to her hotel.
We went over to the padang at about 3pm in the baking hot sun, almost got fried and roasted by the sun but we got to see joey rehearse her song 'live'. Man....it sounded fantastic.....After her rehersal, she went back to the hotel.
We ran for shelter and had a little break while waiting for the concert to begin. When we returned to the padang.....horrors.....the field was packed with ppl....like sardines and we even had ppl climbing up scaffoldings not meant to carry human weight. Crowd control was poor....i think the entire population of chinese expatriates in S'pore turned up for the event.
We managed to squeze ourselves into a position where we think joey would be able to see us or at least the lightboards even if we were a little far from stage. For joey....we endured a 4 hour stand in stuffy, hot conditions but when joey performed........ :affection: it was just beautiful. She came over to our corner twice during her performance and we gave it our best shot...yelling and screaming, waving the lightboards. The ppl around us thought we had a few screws missing in our brains......hahaha
The next morning, a few of us dragged our feet off the bed and went off to the airport at 0630 to send joey off. When 0815hrs came, we knew we made the correct choice. We all had thought that joey was flying home to HK but she was actually flying to China...call it luck, call it fate but the check-in counter happened to be just next to the CX counter. To our surprise, joey arrived at the airport almost 90mins before her flight..........so we had plenty of time to spend with her.
She took time out to take pictures with everyone who wanted one including some with other foreign nationals who were curious and we wasted no time in introducing joey as HK's best and most popular singer to them. Joey chuckled at our enthusiasm. Joey paid attention to what we were saying and she even asked her own questions like what were our jobs, joked with us. We had a awesome time with her.
And yes....joey has said that she should be returning to Singapore again next month for album promotion....
Well, that's the summary of things. For those who had the opportunity to see joey face to face and chat with her, it's a lifetime experience that you will never forget...i certainly wouldn't forget mine leep:
