Linkin Park is a rock band from Agoura Hills, California. They achieved mainstream success in 2000/2001 with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which has since sold fifteen million copies. The band’s following studio album, Meteora also garnered success, topping the Billboard 200’s album charts in 2003. The band’s latest album, Minutes to Midnight, is slated to be released internationally on May 14, 2007 and on May 15, 2007 in the United States.

Brad Delson – Lead guitar (1996–present)
Dave "Phoenix" Farrell – Bass guitar (1996–1999, 2001–present)

their new album is coming out and their new song is good although they have evolved into a different style from their previous 2 main releases:
"In a recent interview with MTV.com, Chester Bennington explained that the nu metal sound from their previous albums is completely gone. He also stated that the new album is a mix of punk, classic rock, and hip-hop beats.
In the December issue of Blender magazine, Chester talked a little bit about the sound of the upcoming album, "Rick has brought more of a stripped down, classic-rock and hip-hop kind of feel. We're using vintage guitars and drums carved out of wood and skin for a more tribal sound. It's definitely not nu metal."
In an interview with Brazilian paper Folhateen, Chester confirmed that the 'rap rock', 'nu-metal' sound that Linkin Park came to be known for, is almost non-existent on the new album, "This time around, Mike Shinoda is singing a lot more. It may seem like he's not on the record, but he's doing a lot of the harmonics. He also sings a couple of songs alone. We're presenting ourselves in a different way. We've had a hair cut, clothing changes and, here it is, here is a new thing."

they are probably the only real mainstream alternative rock band that still has constant commercial success after those hard rock bands in the late 90s that have all but dissapeared from the map. the reason why they have success is the style of their music with added synthesized sounds making it seem complementary to the digital age flavor. may they continue to succeed and inspire other rock bands to succeed
