I read AGES ago that Brad Pitt bought the rights to the movie, I was hoping he would be in it(along with Tom Cruise..that was the rumour) but now it's starring Leonardo Di Carpio and Matt Damon.
The new title is called, The Departed.
What do you guys think of the remake? I am actually interested in seeing it.
It would've been very interesting if Brad Pitt had played Tony Leung's character and Tom Cruise played Andy Lau's character. Both their looks would've suited their respective roles.
I think Leonardo Di Caprio still has a baby face so I don't think he would suit either character. I've never been a fan of his either. I quite liked Matt Damon though in Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy.
I'm unsure whether I'll see this or not. I'll need to see a trailer just to get a basic idea of how it looks.

Here's the trailer. When I first saw the trailer, I had trouble telling Matt and Leonardo apart. Am I the only one who thinks they look similar here? Matt plays Andy's role and Leo's the insider.
Thanks for the link Van but unfortunately it doesn't work
. I did find the trailer for it on Apple's website though if anyone's interested:

I can't watch the trailer on my PC at work though because it hasn't got the browser plug-in
I've just found out there's lot of well-known actors in the cast such as Jack Nicolson, Martin Sheen, Mark Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin and its directed by Martin Scorsese. I'm now actually quite interested in watching the movie now!
I wonder if they're going to give it a happy ending?
The link doesn't work. Hmm, I don't like the main casts. It would be cool if it was really Tom and Brad. But why Leonardo? =.= He went gay after Titanic LOL
=.= i would like brad pitt and tom cruise

Do you mean my link or Van's link that doesn't work? The trailer on Apple's site requires the quicktime plug-in to be installed for your browser.
I don't know, I think Leo actually improved after Titanic - he definitely has more critical acclaim now - Catch Me If You Can, The Aviator, anyone? Those were pretty high-profile films. The thing with him is he was so overly popular among the teen girlies in the late 90's that the fact that he's a fairly decent (and surprisingly quite charismatic) actor was pretty much forgotten by everyone. I'm not a fan, but I do think that he's actually better than people think he is.
I'd watch the remake.
^I agree. Leo has improved a lot since Titanic, remember he was only around 22 when he was in that movie. I think he has just been snubbed at the Oscars. I think people refer him to as the "titantic" too often, and then forgetting how good he is now.
Leonardo was soo cute in Romeo and Juliet! so cute so cute so cute. but only in that movie xD
this remake would be interesting ... i still haven't seen Infernal 2 and 3, is there 3? rofll i watched 1 and i was amazed at how smart it is
