I'll send a BIG email with more details of what happened during my trip, however, I'll show you pics of my tour and give little brief comments whenever i feel like it. I'll also email the link to this page to my friends
Brief overview of the trip: I flew from vancouver to Tokyo, where i transfered flights to Beijing. 4 days later we flew to Xi'an, 3 days later we were at Nanjing, then Hangchow, Xuzhou, Hongchou, and 2 days in shanghai and 6 days in Hong Kong (HK pics weren't much of a deal and are on the other memory card, which i didn't upload, hence won't care to be posted on here either) However i do have a huge sexy pic of joey from one of the many ads i saw of her.
Pics in Beijing
This is the Tian Tan, the place where the Emperor "communicates" with god. There are 3 lvls as you can see. Ground lvl is for regular people. The next lvl is for mid and lower officials, then the great government officials and finally the top lvl is only for the emperor. Aparently the structure allows the speaker in the center of the top lvl to create lots of echo and reverb.

Now is that fog or smog? luckily, fog only... but in the city area, smog is as bad as that if not worst... no i'm not kidding.
This and the above picture is from the Summer Palace, a place where the emperor and his mom would live in the summer for a break. It was built in the Ching dynasty by Qian Long. The lake is man-made and much of the landscape is as well. The Palace/garden was built for Qian's mum.
The famous tian an men, the first big door of the big royal palace. I wanted to remove the pic of Mao -___-"
The famous or i should say... INfamous "noon door" is the 2nd big door. There's that famous saying from emperors, "take him out the noon door and execute him" I seriously thought maybe some thousands of people have died where i was standing but apparently it's not right in front of the door. The execution place is still some distance away, but they DID bring people out this specific door to be decapitated.
The 3rd door, and my parents -_-
The full map of the whole palace. If you follow it from the middle left to the right, you'd be tracing the path i walked, and as well my pictures that i snapped. Notice how big those doors are, yet how small they are on the map compared to the whole palace.
This is my bro and I standing in front of the great hall, which is the largest building in the palace.
The inside of it. Yes the chair is made of gold, and all 4 carved/decorated polls are gold too. Note that all of these buildings are forbidden to have lights and nobody was allowed to enter them, so pics were hard to take.
a much smaller building... this is where the Emperor might read books or study...
self-explanatory... a Lion, gold plated
This is where "early meetings" are held for all the government officials and of course, the emperor.
the 4 "young" ones in the tour. Kyle and Bonnie are the 2 strangers in this pic...
... >.<
ah... we're on the great wall of china
